The conversation...

It has been a month since I last saw my god mama.. So I've decided to visit her yesterday and I brought my mom along..

Almost 3 months ago I found out that my god mama was diagnosed with Stage 4 tummy cancer since April and she was caught up with her surgery, treatment and so that's why she didn't really inform anyone about it.. I was devastated when I found out cause I lost my daddy to tummy cancer as well.. I wasn't sure if I am prepared for another round of this cause 4 years ago it was super tough for me..

I was mentally prepared and reminded myself that I must be strong for god mama.. It was a good visit  at least she is at high spirit (she's one tough woman that's for sure) and I do hope she will recover fast.. Being a busy woman that look after businesses it was difficult for her because right now she can't really do much where she is used to being so busy running around.. 

So after I said bye to her, I had this long conversation with Mama Ong in the car and at the makan place.. 

Mama Ong : You know it is good to be ambitious..it is good to want to do the best and be the best in life but we first need to learn how to be grateful in life of what we already have and I am not saying you don't need to do more but always be grateful first..

Mama Ong: Raising  6 of you wasn't easy but I reminded myself to be grateful of what I already have.. I have you guys (who didn't really gave me much headaches back then but now different story.. ) I make use of what I have to bring you guys up..

Mama Ong : Yes I didn't married into a rich family but I am always grateful that I was able to bring you guys up (like having a family... a home to stay at.. I am healthy.. you guys are healthy..).. These are the fundamental in life that many of you tend not to look at it and choose to complain that life sucks.. life is unfair & so on..

Mama Ong : Regardless of what happened in life..you will need to go through challenges and that doesn't mean you need to give up.. Look at your god mama.. from someone who spends most of her time running businesses and now she can't really do much because of Big C.. If she can fight Big C with such high spirit, you should be able to go through whatever challenges you are going through too.. Hear me?

Me : Yeah..

Mama Ong : The generation now is so different compared to last time.. Most of you young people give up easily and always opt for easy way out.. it seems easy for you guys to run away from the problems rather than facing it.. not happy? leave.. or quit.. where's the fighting spirit or at least try to work on it..

Me : Not everyone is the same you know

Mama Ong : Yes it's an overall statement.. At the end of the day.. always remember that it's not the end of the world.. if you think your life sucks.. try to look at others who are going through worst moments and yet they still do their best to go through life and challenges..Don't look back and always look forward for the brand new day/life.. You will not know what will happen tomorrow.. so at least what you can do now is to be grateful of what you have now..

There you go.. that's why she is my royal highness and queen of my life.. She was the one who told us to be strong when daddy left us.. she was the one who keep us together.. she never give up on me even all the nonsense I've pulled..Remembering back in my teenage days how i couldn't get along well with my mom.. both of us were so bad tempered that we couldn't see each other eye to eye.. and things changed after I left home for studies.
